The scope of the business

The Board of Directors:

makes a yearly working program and a development plan of the ports which includes the financial plan of the ports, in accordance with the suggestions of the General Manager
makes decisions about the enforcement of the basic guidelines of the ports' business policy
authorizes financial reports on business, reports on the enforcement of the yearly program and the development plan of the ports which is submitted by the General Manager and supplied to the founder
makes decisions about the intention to give concessions, the giving of concessions and the deadline of the concessions, in accordance with the regulations on concessions
authorizes the reports on the implementation of concessions
determines the ports' tariffs
determines the scope and organization of the professional and technical services, contracting and wages, e.g. the salary of the president and if necessary that of the members of the Board of Directors , the General Manager and the professional and technical staff
authorizes the Statute of the Port Authority
establishes general Acts which regulate the ports' order and the condition of the ports' usages
names and suspends the General Manager
determines the ports' usages
deals with other things which are within its jurisdiction according to the law,the Act on Establishment and the Statute of the County Port Authority of Krk

The Board of Directors has five members of which two members and the president are appointed by the County Prefect, one member is appointed by the Minister jurisdictive of Maritime Business from the Harbormasters' office of its particular region, and one member is appointed by the representatives of the concessionaires on the territory of the County Authority. The mandate of the members of the Board of Directors is 4 years and begins with the day of the constitution of the Board of Directors. The same persons can be appointed repeatedly for the same positions.

The members of the Board of Directors have the following rights and obligations:

attend the meetings of the Board of Directors
ask questions and suggest topics for the meetings of the Board of Directors from the point of view of their own profession and other professions which are relevant to the business of the County Port Authority of Krk
discuss and have an opinion on all the topics of the daily agenda
participate both temporarily and permanently in the professional treatment and surveillance of activities under the jurisdiction of the Board of Directors
take care of business that is assigned by the Board of Directors
ask questions about the activities of the county authority
participate in all activities of the Board of Directors
use all administrative, technical and professional services of the county authority in order to take care of the business of the Board of Directors
withold information that he comes to know while doing his duty, which is marked as secret by the Statute, the General Act of the Board of Directors or a special regulation

The Board of Directors makes decisions during the meetings which are held according to need, but at least three times a month. The Board of Directors may form temporary or permanent bodies for the professional surveilllance of specific assignments under its jurisdiction, defining its content, scope of work and other relevant question for its functioning.

The County Council may dismiss the Board of Directors according to the suggestion of the County Prefect:

if it does not come up with a yearly program and a development plan of the ports
if the yearly program and the development plan of the ports are not accepted or are not being implemented
in other justified cases

The rights and obligations of the president of the Board of Directors

The president of the Board of Directors has all the rights and obligations of the members of the Board of Directors. Beside those, the president has additional rights and obligations determined by the Statute and the Rules of Procedure of the Board of Directors of the County Port Authority of Krk.

The president of the Board of Directors:

represents the Board of Directors
represents the port authority to the General Manager
determines the meetings of the Board of Directors and (suggestions of) the daily agenda
governs the meetings of the Board of Directors
forms suggestions of documents
determines and publishes the results of elections
authorizes documents of the Board of Directors
is responsible for the implementation of the Rules of Procedure
is responsible for the actualization of the rights and obligations of the members of the Board of Directors
is responsible for the transparency of the work of the Board of Directors
takes care of other business that is legitimately assigned to him by the Board of Directors
